Mark Hiers, Youth Director

Mark is married to Denise Hiers and they have three kids (Ana, Joseph, and Jacob). Mark has been working at Good News for the past 6 years. He really enjoys camping, guitar, squirrel hunting, spending time on the beach w/ his family or hanging out with the dudes in his small group, ‘Brotherhood”. Mark is also currently attending Lamp Theological Seminary in pursuit of a masters of divinity.


 

Tavanya Freeman, Assistant Youth Director

Tavanya has been working for Good News for over 5 years. She enjoys eating popcorn, watching movies, and hanging out with others.

 

Dan Bookhout, Full-time Middle School intern

Dan is married to Jenny and has been on staff at Good News for almost a year. Dan really enjoys playing any type of game, mattress surfing, and pretty much anything Mark tells him to do.

Brain Morgan, Youth Coach

Brian has been a volunteer at Good News for over 5 years. He recently became a coach so that his leadership can help develop other youth leaders. Brian enjoys being a pirate, surfing, and teaching 4th grade at Hartley Elementary.  Brian recently married Crystal Moreno and they are happy starting their new home together.
 

 

Tim Greco, Youth Shepherd

Tim has grew up in the youth ministry of Good News and has been a leader for the past three years. Currently Tim works as a mechanic at Coggin Honda. Tim enjoys skating,  climbing [pretty much anything] or practicing his sweet cage fighting skills.

 

 

Travis Friend, Youth Shepherd

Travis also grew up in the youth ministry of Good News. Travis works for an art gallery down town as their stock room manager. Travis is married to Tiffany and enjoys all kinds of sports and always hanging w/ the boys in his small group

 

 

Joshua Ward, Youth Shepherd    

Josh just graduated from Flagler college and has been a youth volunteer for over 3 years. Josh works down town as a food server in his spare time. Josh enjoys surfing, eating food, and spending quality time playing his guitar for his girl friend.

 

 

Ross Herring, Youth Shepherd

Ross also comes to us from Good News youth. Over the past four years Ross has grown into a great leader for the youth. In high school Ross’ leader was Brian Morgan! (that makes him a pirate…)He is a student at St. John’s River Community College. In his spare time Ross enjoys soccer, fishing, and hunting with his sister Alex (see below). No need to worry about Ross because he is also a black belt in tae-quon-do.
    

 

Jessica Duran, Youth Shepherd

Jessica is currently a college student at Flagler College. She hails from Lake City, Florida and has been working with the youth for almost two years. In her spare time Jessica likes to take long walks on the beach while reading poetry.

 

Alex Herring, Youth Shepherd

Alex Herring has grown up in St. Augustine her whole life. She is also a product of the Youth Ministry of Good News Church. She is currently enrolled at St. Johns River Community College. In her spare time Alex likes to hang with friends, hit the gym, or go hunting with her father. Also beware, this second “Herring” on the youth team is also a black belt.

Jeff Bush, Youth Coach.

Jeff is married to Christine and has two kids, Brandon and Allison. Jeff works for Pepsi Cola and in his free time loves to hunt, fish, and get excited about Youth Ministry.

 

Kelly Campbell, Youth Shepherd.

Kelly has been working with middle school girls for over a year and really loves it.  She likes to spend time hanging out with her girls, going to the movies and wearing Transformer t-shirts.  You can always count on her bashing away at a volleyball on Wednesday nights at Octane.

Brittany Salamon, Youth Shepherd.

Brittany works at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind as a teacher for the visually impaired.  She is enormously dedicated to her kids and their growth.  She can usually be found making homemade smoothies, watching dance shows, and singing gospel music at the top of her lungs.
